Biography

I graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2009 with a Bachelor in Science in Exercise Science in Wellness.  I also completed a Masters of Education in Kinesiology – Health Promotion at Auburn University in 2011.

I’ve worked as a Wellness Director at HealthPluss Fitness in Auburn as well as a Sports Performance coach with Athletic Republic at RehabWorks. I also assisted in a Cardiac Rehab Clinic during my Master’s program and launched, programmed and coached an Endurance Group at my local Crossfit Gym, Crossfit on the Plains, in Auburn, Alabama.

I’m a certified Clinical Exercise Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine, a Certified Running Coach through Road Running Club of America, Level 3 certified with Athletic Republic Sports Performance, and a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  I’ve taken several continuing education courses in Sports Nutrition and am currently working on the Precision Nutrition Certification.

I grew up in Ontario trying my hand at figure skating, gymnastics and jazz before finding my love for running and swimming.  This passion lead me to triathlon in sixth grade and a more intense training and competition schedule in high school.  I decided to put triathlon on the back burner while competing for Jacksonville State University on a cross country and track scholarship which lead me into the marathon running post graduation. I now enjoy swimming, commute cycling, running and Crossfit.
