Foot Orthotics

Good health starts from the ground up, with your feet. Mis­aligned foot and ankle struc­tures are the source of all kinds of prob­lems from sore knees and aching hips and backs to bal­ance issues. Prob­lems that cus­tom foot orthotics can often solve.

Rob Bouma offers two main types of cus­tom foot orthotics. One is a hand-crafted foot orthotic made from a plas­ter cast of the patients foot.

The other more com­mon type is cre­ated using the Amfit sys­tem. A three-dimensional dig­i­tal cast of the patient’s foot is taken using the Amfit Dig­i­tizer. Mod­i­fi­ca­tions to the foot model are done on the com­puter, allow­ing for flex­i­bil­ity in cre­at­ing a solu­tion that specif­i­cally addresses the unique needs of each patient.
