Doug opened the clinic in 1985 with a vision to have a multidisciplinary Sports Medicine Centre to treat athletic injuries in Sherwood Park. He did this by opening with Dr. Jim Adams next door, two chiropractors down the hall and a massage therapist on site. In 2001 the vision grew as Sherwood Park Sports Physiotherapy moved to Millennium Place, allowing us to collaborate with not only Dr. Adams but also Chiropractor, Dr. Dan Headington, 3 Massage Therapists, Orthotist Rob Bouma, IMS Specialist, Anne Edwards and 2 Acupuncturists. Who ever dreamed these varied professionals could all work together!
The “team approach” has been the success of SPSP as we will do whatever is necessary to get patients back to their sports and busy lifestyles. Doug graduated from the University of Alberta with his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Physical Education.
