About Us

Doug Gilroy opened Sherwood Park Sports Physiotherapy in 1985 with a vision to have a multidisciplinary sports medicine centre to treat athletes and active people in Sherwood Park.  In 2000, the vision grew as the clinic moved to Millennium Place fitness facility and expanded to include a full team of rehabilitation and exercise specialists.

In November 2015, The Bridge our sister clinic opened one block west of Millennium Place. With nearly 7,000 sq ft of space this new site provides all services from injury prevention, injury treatment to return to sport and performance training.  It’s with this approach that we truly “bridge the gap” from rehab to return and ensure our patients and clients successfully return to the sports and activities they love.

We integrate clinical health care, sports therapy with sports conditioning services to allow injured and active individuals the environment to get back to the sports and activities they love.  We are proactive and help prevent injury and improve performance by analyzing and correcting movement.

TEAM WORK:  Our physiotherapists, athletic trainers, chiropractor, exercise specialists and massage therapists work together to provide whatever service is best for the individual at the time they need it.

INNOVATIVE:  We think differently.  We continually challenge the norm and always push to bring the best professionals and treatment to our clients.

AUTHENTIC:  We say and do the things we actually believe.

We work with active individuals of all ages and abilities – from competitive athletes to active seniors.  You do not need a Doctor’s referral to book an appointment.  Your initial visit will take 60 to 90 minutes, allowing us to do a complete assessment of your injury and start you on treatment to help you recover quickly.  Call us for costs and coverage options.
