Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a timeless treatment that encourages the body to heal itself. Very fine needles inserted at precise points on the body stimulate the nerves to bring the body into balance, relieve pain and energize the healing process.
For most people, acupuncture is a completely painless and highly effective way to control pain and treat illness. It uses the body’s own energy to heal and is a natural compliment to physical therapy treatments.

IMS
IMS is a similar technique to acupuncture and uses fine needles to treat tight muscle bands that are often the cause of many chronic and painful conditions such as neck and back pain as well as many other soft tissue injuries.
In these conditions, nerves and nerve endings become irritated and are supersensitive. They cause normal, harmless signals to be exaggerated, resulting in spasm of the muscle supplied by that nerve.
Chronic muscle spasm can lead to muscle shortening which produces pain by pulling on tendons and straining them as well as stressing the joints they move. Painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication only mask the pain.
The goal of IMS is to release muscle shortening which presses on and irritates the nerves. Supersensitive areas can be desensitized and the persistent pull of shortened muscles released with IMS.
